BARE BONES...

Hello Everyone.
 It's good to be back.

I want you to know that
I've kept up with all of you
 as best I could...

 ...although I didn't always
 leave comments.

We have been
busy around here
for the past
couple of weeks
and...

...I'm sorry to say
that we haven't
finished
anything!

Hope you all had
a festive 4th of July.

 This was Kai's first
 with us
and he wasn't feeling the love!

 He has found
a safe haven
under the table and between the chairs
 and now he retreats there
whenever something bothers him.

 It is a little dark
and that is how he likes it.
 He doesn't care
that it makes for a
blurry photo.

We are having
 beautiful summer weather here
 in the foothills.
 It has been hot,
but the breezes are constantly moving
 the trees
so it is really
quite comfortable.

Even though,
after twelve years,
I am not participating in
the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
 this weekend in San Francisco,
we are going up on Sunday
to cheer Tami
over the finish line.

By now,
 you might have suspected
the pictures I am showing
 are the
bare bones
 of a particular project
we have been working on.

 I normally don't like
 to share anything
 until it is finished,
but I wanted to get back in touch,
so this is how
I choose to do it.

I hope
you are as excited
 to see it all together
as I am to show you.

As the project is moving along,
we are finding great enjoyment in it,
and that may be the reason
why
 it
is
taking
so
long!

So
that's my story and
 I'm sticking
 to it...

...slow
and
steady!

...Judy...

  4. You have peeked our curiosity, so I can hardly wait to see what you and the Captain are working on.

Poor puppy, he is just like my two dogs..... they HATE the fireworks and I had to give them tranquilizers from Friday night on till two days after the 4th. Now poo Waldo goes into my bathroom and lay's in the shower stall until about midnight then he comes out and sleeps on his pillow while Lili is up on the bed as close as she can get to me. They are still setting them off nightly. They are the big bang ones that are not legal.

I am getting ready for the big heat wave we are getting tomorrow.

    Hugs,
    Mary

  5. Really made me curious! Can't wait to see what you are working on. My Bella doesn't really like the fireworks but doesn't seem especially scared. The two year old twins were petrified of the fireworks. They had to go to the car and stay with Tiffany. She had to roll the windows up and turn the radio up loud. I think it was more the noise than the actual fireworks. Maybe next year.....

  7. Life has a way of getting in the way of blogging, Judy. Your furry baby doesn't differ much from mine with the noise (even thunder). I keep them indoors with as much noise (TV, a fan, music) as possible.

I'm so excited to hear about your project!!! Hurry!!! ;-D

  8. As, poor Kai - July is pretty stressful for our pups. This was our first 4th with our pup, too, and he was only a little unnerved. He just retreated to his dig bed in our master and panted. Felt so badly for him. Like the others, I'm intrigued and looking forward to seeing what you've been up to. Jane

  9. Now you've got my curiosity up for sure. Looking forward to seeing what you've been up to.

Poor Kai. I don't like all of the noise either.

Enjoy the rest of your week ~ FlowerLady

  10. Hi Judy,
Can't wait to see what you have been up too. Looks intriguing! Little Mr. Cooper does not like storms or fireworks either so he feels Kai's wanting to hide when that was happening.
Have a great week ahead. It is hot hot hot here in Illinois. No breezes for us just high 90's.
Hope we get some of the rain they are predicting so it will cool down some. Ahhhh still love my summer here.

  11. Hi Judy, so nice to see you in my inbox today. Love this post with a little glimpse of your project. I looks forward to seeing the completion which I know will be fabulous. Sweet Kai's too cute hiding from the noise of the fireworks. My golden used to do the same and had a terrible time with storms.
Glad you're having some nice weather. It's mighty HOT here but thankfully the humidity is low!!
Enjoy the rest of the week. Hugs

  12. Judy, I'm sure your project is wonderful and you really are a tease!
You can't get through my place at the moment. We shampooed the carpets yesterday and there is furniture sitting around EVERYWHERE in our living area because that is where we have wood floors. Someday we hope to have all wood. We won't miss the shampooing that's for sure. My family is arriving in a couple of days and we have so much to do yet to get ready. This is why I'm taking a blogging break. Thanks for sharing and I'll catch up with you when I get back.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  16. So looking forward to see your finished project Judy. Kai is so sweet. I do understand how some of those loud noises can be frustrating. I am trying to get caught up myself, staying busy designing more blogs. Have a happy weekend.

  18. Judy, Some weeks and months just fly by and we don't finish projects as planned. No worries though, I know your project will be wonderful. Kai is just a sweet angel-love her face. Hope you have a great week.

Poor Kai...fireworks are no fun. Oddly enough, our pups didn't seem to mind this year.
