A few days ago Yvonne from StoneGable posted about the ten signs of summer around her cottage and invited us to post some of our own.
So even though it's not officially summer yet here are some of the things that remind me of this glorious time of the year.
Trips to the Farmer's Market...
...the sound of the lawn sprinkler...
...a bouquet of fresh flowers...
...porch sitting...
...a summer hat and a good book...
...flags, parades and fireworks...
...drives in the country and the mountain air...
...California sunshine...
...bird song...
...the Grand Illumination...
...blue skies, white clouds and sun rays...
...the sweet scent of lavender...
... the beauty of hydrangeas...
...fairy fixins...
...first cherries of the season...
...tea parties and picnics...
...a summer evening sunset...
...open doors and lamplight.
There may be a little more than ten here.
All brought to you with anticipation!
What reminds you of summer?
...Judy...
Fireflies...
What??
In California?
Yes, if you believe in the magic of summer.

What delightful signs of summer, Judy. I love all the flowers and thoughts of the farmers market and your sweet house all illuminated....chasing fireflies....all of it. HOWEVER~We do not even have Spring here yet! lol Seriously- nothing is blooming and plants are just starting to come up. I take that back I did see some daffodils! Finally! Happy Summer to you...Happy Spring to me! xo Diana

ReplyDeleteJudy, Birds, flowers, and porch sitting are my favorites. Love your pictures too. Enjoy this wonderful season, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteOh the photos are amazing. I can't wait for our first cherries coming over from eastern Washington. They set up stands all over the place and we make good use of them. So many splendors of summer.
ReplyDeleteI love your summer scenes. Fresh picked strawberries warm from the summer sun come to mind and a visit to the ice cream store down the road for a refreshing cone of something yummy on a warm evening. Just two things I'm looking forward to. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely signs of summer Judy. Around here people have been having their first barbecues of the year and that to me is a sign of summer coming!
