The beauty of springtime is upon us
and we are all the better for it.
We need a reprieve from
all the darkness that surrounds us
and I am declaring that this is it.
The garden,
though not quite as beautiful as it soon will be,
is making a statement
by bringing exclamations of color
that can brighten even the darkest corners.
As I add more blooms throughout the Cottage,
I can feel the lifting
of heavy burdens ever so slightly
and a calmness is spreading out before me.
The windows are open to let the sunshine back in
and the lace curtains seem whitewashed by its warmth.
It feels good to be back.
I didn't ever mean for my time away to last this long
but it did
and I can't promise that it won't happen again.
My thoughts are that after fourteen years,
I'm just not as spontaneous as I once was
and I don't want to become boring,
so if that means a little time in between
then that is how it shall be.
The garden is calling.
It is time for tidying up and feeling the sun on my back.
I certainly don't mean to oversimplify all that is happening around us now.
There is pure evil at work,
trying to destroy our way of life,
don't kid yourselves,
and I know that a few colorful spring blooms
won't change any of that
but, if you let them, they and a little bit of sunshine,
will put some beautiful magic
where we need it most.
HAPPY SPRING DAYS...

What a beautiful post! I feel the same about spring. Your blooms are gorgeous. Happy spring! Visiting from the Love Your Creativity linkup.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jennifer. I love the spring flowers after a cold , wet winter. Happy Spring to you..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteI hope we all are never boring, although I'm totally over gray and white houses...LOL. Your blooms and thoughts are lovely, the fun thing about coming to blogland is it's peaceful...a respite from everything. Hugs, and hope to see you sooner than you think, Sandi
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sandi. No one is boring. We all just have a different take on things and that is what makes blogging so much fun. We are back to small amount of spring weather now..Happy Spring to you..xxoJudy
DeleteBeautiful words and message Judy. Our weather is always a rollercoaster, especially this time of year. I never get bored of others, only myself. haha. Thanks for sharing your lovely home and flowers. Hope you're well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Debra. You are right that no one is boring, I think we are probably harder on ourselves than we need to be. We had a tornado warning the other day if you can believe that. Here in earthquake country!! But nothing came of it. I love the spring gardens. I wish I could grow more of those blooms..Happy Spring..xxoJudy
DeleteSo sweet to see you post. Glad you are doing good. After about the same amount of time with blogging I too have not been posting as much as I use to. The blooms are so pretty. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kris. I keep track of you but have been very bad about answering lately. It is amazing when you don't do anything that it seems like you are so busy!! Hope you and Terry are well and enjoying the beginning of spring..xxoJudy
DeleteSo many pretty flowers, Judy! It's always fun to see your posts in my feed. They make me smile. Happy Spring my friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kim. It feels like ages since I've been gone.
DeleteSee, I have been gone so long that I can't remember how to do anything any more. Guess I hit the "publish" by mistake. Using the laptop on my lap doesn't work so well for me!! Hope you are enjoying spring my friend..xxoJudy
DeleteHappy spring, Judy. Weather here has been off again on again. We've had some rain, which is much needed, and cooler temps, that I welcome. It's too early for 90s because summer will be here soon enough. I love seeing all your pretty blooms. My camellias have pretty much stopped blooming, the red buds are leafed out, and spring bulbs are pretty much done. I do have some amaryllis and iris blooming. I'm one of those who takes my spent amaryllis bulbs from the holidays and plants them outdoors in the garden. They get a second life!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sarah. The weather has been crazy. We had a tornado warning the other day but ended up just to be a little windy. Scary thought though! I tried an amaryllis once and put it in the closet like I was told but it didn't work. They certainly are a beautiful flower. I love all the spring flowers. Happy Spring to you..xxoJudy
DeletePretty flowers. Loved seeing them all. Just starting to see daffodils pop up here. We had some freezing rain rain yesterday so I hope they come back. Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Janice. The daffodils are so resilient. I have one little batch left in the garden and we had some big hail and hard rain and they looked so beaten down but stood right back up when it stopped. Such pretty little flowers! Hope yours come back too..Happy Spring..xxoJudy
DeleteSpring IS busting out in your world! You are ahead of us -- I have to get my tulip and daffodil fix from the market (though the daffs are beginning to pop). But it is coming. Your home is -- as always -- looking lovely.Happy spring!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanie. It seems like spring has sprung but we are still having some wicked weather. Nice today though so maybe we are getting lucky. Hope you and Rick are doing well and enjoying a Happy Spring..xxoJudy
DeleteBeautiful spring blooms! I love seeing your pictures and post.
ReplyDeleteI hope that the sun shines on you today and warms your home with golden light :)
{{hugs}}
Thanks so much, Kerin. Hope you are doing well. We are having nice sunshine today but did have a tornado warning the other day. Nothing happened but that was almost unthinkable..Happy Spring to you my friend..xxoJudy
DeleteSo nice to see all your pretty spring flowers, Judy. They do lift the spirit and we need all the help we can get in that regard these days. I've been blogging as long as you have and find myself not posting more than once a month these days. Glad to see your post - I always look forward to seeing your lovely home. Sending hugs x K
