HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY...

Time has gotten away from me - again!

I intended to post on my regular schedule,

but the time just whizzed by

 and before I knew it

Tuesday had come and gone.

I did a few patriotic touches around the Cottage,

not as much as I have done in the past,

but that seems to be

what the future holds from now on.

It is enough for me.

I think I have finally realized that

less is more, less is enough.

It is about time...Maybe!

We have been enjoying some hotter weather.

Hot, but so far, not as bad as year's past.

Of course, that doesn't mean it will stay that way

but, for now, we are grateful.

The little birds that seemed to be getting ready

to nest in our little pink cottage

 have suddenly disappeared.

We have not seen them for three days.

Google says this can happen and

they sometimes return to lay their eggs.

We looked into the house as best as we could

but what they built so far

is too high to see into the nest

and we didn't want to touch anything.

 Fingers crossed that they return

as they have crept into being part of the family.

Hope that those of you who celebrate July 4th

 have a wonderful night.

We will do the usual during the day,

take a trip down to In N Out burger for dinner

and watch the fireworks

from our hospital parking lot.

 Some things never change.

Until next time...

...xxoJudy...

  2. Happy 4th of July Judy. We had birds nesting in my Mackenzie Childs bird house. The bird tea set is lovely. Enjoy your in and out burger and the fireworks. We will just stay home and grill smash burgers. xo

    1. Thanks so much, Linda. I will have to be content with the tea set as, for some strange unknown reason, the little birds have left the nest and haven't returned. So sad but I read where they will do that sometimes..Happy Summer..xxoJudy

  5. What a lovely post...i really do wish we could have tea on your front porch! Such cute vignette's, I'm just not finding time to do any decorating right now....maybe I can drag something out for late summer. It's so hot, the gardening knocks me out! Hugs, Sandi

    1. Thanks so much, Sandi. I can only imagine how much time your garden must take up but what a gorgeous job! My poor little plot is looking very dry and shaggy right about now and I still haven't done much of anything else..Happy Summer..xxoJudy

  6. Happy 4th Judy! Looks like you had a nice one and is nice to have our routines. I believe, at this age, that Less is absolutely better than More! In fact, sometimes it's "nothing" is better than "less"!! I just don't have the motivation much anymore to decorate for holidays, other than Christmas. Time goes so fast and they come and then are gone, and we've done alot of work for what? not much when no one comes to visit! Oh well.. life is such as it is. When my mom passed at age 84, she was still decorating for every holidays, the entire house! More kudos to here.. but then.. she had 4 daughters who stopped by alot, with our kids and spouses.. so she had a reason. Your cottage looks lovely as always! xoxoxo Marilyn

    1. Thanks so much, Marilyn. I couldn't have said it any better myself. Time is very short these years and the energy it takes to do anything is hard to explain to someone. I think we might be in a situation that is made for the young ones.. Happy Summer, my friend..xxoJudy

  7. I didn't feel like celebrating the Fourth this year. I guess a centerpiece did it for me. And we did watch fireworks (because when they shoot them off directly across the lake from us, you're going to hear them anyway -- may as well watch! Looks lovely, Judy.

    1. Thanks so much, Jeanie. Since they changed the location of our fireworks during Covid I thought we might be able to see them from the house but too many trees in the way. That would be the ideal situation since I really do enjoy them. It was a quiet night and for that we are thankful..I still haven't taken by 4th decorations down. Too lazy, soon will be too lazy to put them up!..Happy summer, my friend..xxoJudy

    2. Hello dear Judy, thank you so much for your reciprocal visit and kind 😇 comment on my blog. Yes, I live in Montreal, Canada🇨🇦 I laughed 😅 when you mentioned the orange idiot. We Canadians love ❤️ our U.S. neighbours and it's a shame that one person is doing these tariffs and referring to us as the 51st state. Thank you so much for your kindness and support. It is this kind of attitude that helps us more than you know.

    3. Thanks again, Linda. I know that my style of blogging is not generally known for political outbursts but sometimes things just get to be too much! I sincerely hope that the day will come when we can laugh at it all but, for now, the joke isn't as funny as it once was..xxoJudy

  10. Have I been to your house? No. But I feel like I have because when the authors describes a charming home surrounded by lush garden, this is what I picture in my mind. What a beautiful home you have, Judy.

  11. Thanks so much Lux. I appreciate your kind words so much. As I get older I find that I don't have as many good ideas as I once had so I don't do as much decorating as I used to but words like yours are very much needed and help to get me going again..Happy Summer, my friend..xxoJudy

  12. Judy,
Sorry I am late stopping by!! Glad that your Summer has not been as hot as other years...Our has been awful...:lots of days in the 90's but the humidity is a killer....Going as high as tropical...Crazy for NEPA that we now have weather like Florida does...And the rain...almost every day...the other day we got 4 inches of rain in about 10 hours!! Nuts!! I have been stuck in the house most of this Summer...I am looking forward to Fall...Your cottage looks as lovely as always....I hope you both are well!!
