I remember seeing a quote somewhere that went like this:
"The best thing about the month of February is that it only has twenty-eight days."
I don't know who said that but I emphatically disagree - this year anyway.
These are my three reasons why...
...The month of January is gone so we're one month closer to spring...
...February 8 will mark my one year anniversary of blogging. You can see my very first post here...
...And...
...Today is the first time I have come up with a really cute idea all on my own.
It's such a simple idea that I'm really surprised that no one else has thought of it, and this is where it gets a little scary. Because it is so simple, and you are all so talented and artistic, I find it very hard to believe it's never been done before.
But, I truly have never seen it. So, if you have any knowledge of this cute little project, please do not tell me yet. Let me bask in my own goofy ego for just a little while longer.
I bought these napkins at HomeGoods last weekend. They had a tablecloth to match but I didn't get it (dumb) because it was too large for the kitchen table.
I thought I might use two of them to make a couple of pillows for the settle bench.
I removed it from the settle and threw it over the back of the chair temporarily. That's when I had this epiphany! What an easy way to dress up the chairs for a different look.
I immediately went to Ben Franklins and got some black twill tape, tacked it where it needed to be and tied a little bow. Easy as 1-2-3!
Here is the final outcome and I couldn't be more pleased.
Dinner plates are Royal Stafford, England

Thank you so much for keeping your little secret? from me and thank you to all my followers and all the lovely and dear people I have 'met' over this past year.
I have always been one to keep my lamps lit and my curtains open so I could share my pretty little Cottage with all passerbys. This outlet has given me the chance to do just that and I am so happy that you have all responded so kindly. I enjoy each and every one of you and treasure your friendships. I am so honored to be in your circle.
...Judy...

ReplyDeleteHi Judy, I love the napkins on the chairs, a great idea! Congrats on your first anniversary! It's nice to have "met" you, too. Jean
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you decided to start blogging one year ago. How would I "meet" you otherwise, lol? I think you have a lovely blog and the sense you wrote that you light up your lamps and open your curtains is just the way I always have lived. I hate to have curtains for all the windows, I wants to see the light. (And I hate to see that my DH have not lighetened our lamps in the windows when I work evenings, lol!).
ReplyDeleteIn June I have blogged for 6 years. I can't believe I've done it that long. But we learn something all the time, don't we.
You secret is with me. I have never seen this before and I think it was just great. Maybe I'll take after you in our kitchen.
Hope you have a nice Sunday.
Love Elzie
