Confessions of an Addict

I confess.  I admit it.  I am an addict.  A house addict.

I love to drive for hours, just looking at houses.  Whether it be a small cottage or a mansion, old or new.  I start to salivate when I see a flyer advertising a home tour.  I have drug my poor, but willing, husband miles away from where he is comfortable so I can fulfill my addiction.  If I have seen a house that intrigues me in the daylight hours, I will want to go back at nighttime, and if the drapes are closed, heaven forbid!  How dare they shut me out of their world!

It's not that I want to see what they are doing inside their home, it is that I want to see inside their home.  Christmas time, is the best, as most people leave their drapes open in order to display their yuletide decorations, but their tree must be pretty small, so I can see around it!  A lamp, burning in the window, is just as beautiful to me as a glittering Christmas tree.

So let me take you along to see some of the charming homes in my little town and, in doing so, let me show you the joy of looking through my eyes.

I hope you enjoyed the ride.

So remember to keep a lamp in your window, and your drapes open, because you never know when I might be passing by.

Hope the rest of your week is filled with all good things....Judy

  1. Hi Judy,

This was my first time visiting your blog. I decided to follow you... I will follow anyone who loves looking at houses :) I thought I was the only one who did this. I even do this when we go and visit family. My nephew scheduled a whole day around me looking at houses in his Georgia town. hehe I just love it. So from one addict to another, nice to meet you.

    Blessings,
    Amy Jo

    1. Amy Jo: Thank you so much for your sweet comments and for following. I'm going over to look at your blog also. Don't you just love the 'old girls'. Although I must admit I enjoy the new houses also. If we are on a road trip and I see the "historic district" sign we have to pull off and check it out. I admit it could be for shopping but we always check out the housing also. I'm lucky my husband enjoys it too. I'm looking forward to hearing more from you and I'm glad to meet a fellow addict..Happy Spring..Judy
