A ride through the foothills
of the Sierra Nevada,
 in the spring,
 has a promising effect.

Bright beginnings
brought on by

...or bringing life back
 from the ravages
 of time.

age and nature
 need a little extra assistance
 to survive...

 a little make-up
 is a good thing...

...and sunshine and contentment
always go
 hand in hand.

To be beautiful
 is sometimes a struggle

...if you give it your all
it can somehow work.

Meanwhile, back home in the garden...

...Lady Banks
 is flourishing...

...and the lilacs
are giving her
 stiff competition.

The valerian
is marching
along side
 the fence line...

...just starting
 to bud out.

The rosemary
 is alive with the
buzzing, busy bees...

...and while Cecil Brunner
 is awaiting
their soft show
 of color..

...a little lady bug
is moving
 towards the light.

Visions of spring loveliness
 to grace
 the Cottage
 and the garden...

Spring time
in the foothills!

  1. Beautiful spring photos Judy. Your Lady banks are gorgeous. I love them. So many lovely flowers. The country side photos are charming. I just love spring and what it brings. Happy Tuesday.

  2. The lilacs are my favorite! They froze? Oh no! Your Lady Banks is really gorgeous, I'd keep mine if it had been healthier after the hurricane. But I get to enjoy ours in all it's glory!
Gorgeous photos and please gives kisses to that handsome boy! xoxo, T.

  3. Beautiful countryside photos and gorgeous floral vignettes.

  4. Oh Judy, your photo's are stunning. Love the cows sitting in the grass. I do love Spring on the farm. So many beautiful flowers and of course that sweet dog of yours, how cute. Looks like he likes to have his pictures taken.

    Have a great week.

  5. Judy what a beautiful garden you have...I could pass the hours away walking around admiring it. You are ahead of us here...lilacs are still a few weeks away but oh how I adore their scent as it rides along a spring breeze. Wishing you a Happy Tuesday along with a wonderful week!
    XO Barbara

  6. What a lovely post. You live in such a wonderful area...I would love to take a drive and see cows, you used to be able to do that here but that was a very long time ago.

Your lilac bouquet is exquisite and I can only imagine the fragrance. Isn't it amazing what a difference the rain has made.

  7. Dear Judy:
Yes- spring does come and sooner here in Missouri than before in Colorado. I loved your photos and your sweet dog and cows. The lilacs look lovely. Happiness - awe yes! Thanks for sharing and linking.

  8. Your spring pictures are lovely. I, like Pernideen, wish I could see cows. The area in which I live has gotten so crowded with houses and townhouses......no room for cows.
Your flowers are beautiful. I love lilacs and the tiny blossoms of forget-me-nots. Have never seen, now heard of, Lady Banks. Lovely flowers !
We never know what kind of weather spring will bring us. It's cold here in Va. but the weatherman is forecasting temps in the 70s next week.
Best wishes for a lovely week and weekend.

  9. I really enjoyed your spring countryside. The cows remind me of those on my grandfather's farm so long ago. Warm, fuzzy memories. Love the lilacs and it will be June before we see any here. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your lovely flowers.

  10. Oh beautiful spring! I enjoyed your photos so much Judy as we wait for spring to actually happen here. Next month it may look like this. And those bunches of lilacs in the house - so beautiful. Enjoy! Have a wonderful day.
    Hugs, Pam
