A LITTLE FALL IN THE KITCHEN...

 I haven't done much fall

decorating this year.

I did happen to find myself in the $ Store for the first time in a couple of years

and saw these really cute little plates.

I had the larger dinner plates for some years that happened to be also

 from the $ Store.

I put them together with

napkins and place mats

that I have had for a long while

and with bits and pieces of

autumnal fruit and fauna...

...it is a charming spot for
 dinner for two.

A couple of other spots

 where fall peeks out

but that is about the extent of

autumn in the kitchen.

We had to get a new refrigerator.

Ours went out a couple of months ago

and we called a repairman.

We had to pay him up front

for the service call

and before we could even

get the appointment,

the old girl started working again.

He said that there was nothing wrong

but, if there was,

between the cost of another service call, the part that was defective

and his wages,

it would probably be cheaper

to buy a new one.

She lasted about another month

and the same thing happened

so we took his advice

and bought a new one.

I got rid of the stainless steel

and just got a plain Jane white one.

It is a little smaller than the old one

 but big enough for us

and I love how it looks

very old fashioned

and fits in with the look of the kitchen.

 The biggest appeal is that

 I don't have to

clean fingerprints any more.

I had to share the beautiful orchid

that the kids sent up for our anniversary.

  It is absolutely gorgeous

and so far it is doing well.

Of course, it has only been

a couple of weeks so fingers crossed.

A few new buds have already opened up.

The scale of it is quite large.

I hope you all are enjoying

this beautiful season so far.

 Our weather has been wonderful

but it is steadily getting colder.

What a great transition.

The Captain gets mad at me,

 but I can't help feeling

Christmas in the air.

In between our lovely autumn days

we had a little rain storm.

Just enough to make the garden happy

and to justify a home-made and hot,

 creamy bowl of cauliflower soup

 topped with crushed Ritz crackers

and cheddar cheese.

 So good!

Until next time..

...xxoJudy...

  1. Love your fall touches, Judy. Stainless steel appliances are really overated. Mine has stains that will NOT come off. Happy Fall, your soup looks yummy!

    1. Thanks so much, Debra. I am so happy to get rid of that monster. It looks so pretty when bright and shiny but so hard to keep up. I don't even have any little hands around either. That soup is made in the Instant Pot. Only 4 ingredients and takes about 5 minutes from start to finish..Happy Fall to you, my friend..xxoJudy

  2. Love the fall decor. Glad you could find a new refrigerator. I like white appliances. I have stainless and they are a pain to keep looking clean. Have a good fall week. Today we hit 81 which normally here is in the 50's so we are enjoying the warmer unseasonable weather here in Illinois. Hugs. Kris

  5. Soups have been our go to dinners for a bit now as the colder weather comes in. Congrats on the new fridge. Yes would be cheaper to just get a new one rather than repair. Love your table setting and your Autumn touches. Janice

    1. Thanks so much, Janice. We are enjoying the new fridge. Because it doesn't have a whole lot of bells and whistles (which we don't really need any more) it was less expensive that other ones. I like that about it too..xxoJudy

  6. I love your table for two and the new fridge is great. I suspect a new one is in my future -- my immediate future -- and I'm trying to find one that will fit the space in my small, '60s-built kitchen without having to dissemble the cupboards above. It will be a challenge and not an inexpensive one. But that's life... What a lovely fall space!

    1. Thanks so much, Karen. I have never poured anything out of that little pitcher, only used it for flowers, but I love it too. Hope you don't have to get another fridge but ours is working out so far. Much smaller than our other but big enough for us..Happy Late Fall..xxoJudy

  8. Judy,
I was so happy to see a post from you my friend!!
I love your sweet little Fall tablescape for 2!! So charming as is your Kitchen which you know I have always loved!! I have almost the same refrigerator but by a different brand and I love it...I was never a fan of stainless steel, truth be told...Even though my downstairs is decorated for Falloween, my upstairs is decorated for Christmas!! I have to start early because of all I do and I finished the upstairs yesterday. Right after Halloween, I start the downstairs...And the soup looks divine!! Have a good weekend, my friend!!

    1. Thanks so much, Deb. I don't know how you get everything done but you always seem to and it looks all so pretty. I love the little fridge and now can't wait for my stainless steel oven to bite the dust. HaHa. I have never had to replace my diswasher which is black since we put it in about 25 years ago. Thank heavens or I would have had that in stainless too!..Happy Late Fall, Early Christmas..xxoJudy

    1. Thanks so much, Bernideen. We are loving the new fridge. Our old one had the freezer on the bottom and, I have to say, it was a little easier not having to bend down so much..Hope you are enjoying the last of autumn..xxoJudy

  11. Please Read. You have a great post here, Have anyone here know Goji Berries... yes... I tried those too.For my health conditions, Those sweet, red berries seemed to help, but only during the time when I consumed them. I don't want to take a drug for the rest of my life, so why would I want to take a natural supplement everyday for the rest of my life (although Goji berries are very tasty and are highly nourishing). To me this was not a cure either (and I'm LOOKING for the CURE).
Up to that point, I hadn't found a cure. I felt like a young jumbled mess. I continued to have extreme pain, but continued on my path to healing. I started to focus on myself and not everyone else. When I was a young adult, I took on too much responsibility out of a sense of obligation. This was no longer healthy for me, so I resigned from all my projects and groups. Those days to come were the best [and worst] days. I took a lot of time off work, yet begun to feel so extremely exhausted. Many health professionals "diagnosed" me with adrenal fatigue & Hiv,Prostate Cancer so my situation was annoying then I keep searching for permanent cure online that's when I came to know of Dr jekawo herbal doctor hands whom god has blessed with ancestral powers and a gift to heal people with disease like .Cancers,Alzheimer's disease,HPV,Men & Women Infertility,Melanoma, Mesothelioma, Diabetes, Multiple myeloma, Parkinson's disease,Neuroendocrine tumors,Herpes, Hiv/Aids,Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,, chronic diarrhea, COPD, Hepatitis... So I made a purchase of his herbal medicines and I have been watching my health for 6 years now and I actually confirmed that his herbal medicines are a permanent cure and I'm so happy that I came to know of his herbal healings. You can contact Dr Jekawo herbal doctor Email: drjekawo@gmail.com if you went through exactly what I go through in terms of health conditions because to be honest there is more to learn about natural herbs than medical drugs.
