"Marry when June roses blow,/
Over land and seas you'll go.
Old Wedding superstition
I have always heard that the month of June is the perfect month to be married in..I think June is one of the most beautiful months of the year. It is not too hot yet but the chill from winter's leftovers has started to subside and the flowers are flourishing and the birds are happily singing. So for those reasons, it sounds like the most wonderful month to start a new beginning.
With that being said, I don't know anyone who has been married in June, but do know that members of my family, all of whom have been married in less than perfect months of the year, have had wonderful beginnings and some are still enjoying warm and loving relationships.
"It is not only necessary to love, it is necessary to say so."
An old French saying
How many of these people started out, at a very young age, with this outlook for the future, and ended up being some of the lucky few who have endured?
These are my grandparents, Mabel and John William. They were married in 1910 and had two children. They were together for 60 years.
"She has my heart, she has my hand,/
By secret troth and honour's band...
"My Highland Lassie O"

"Life in common among people who love each other is the ideal of happiness."
George Sand
This is my Dad and Mom, Thurman and Viola, on their wedding day. They were married in 1937, had three children and were together for 50 years.
"Oh, the miraculous energy that flows between two people who care enough...to take the risks of...responding with the whole heart."
Alex Noble
These are the Captain's parents, Herbert and Grace. They were married in 1934 and had five children. They were together for 40 years, and this picture was taken on their 38th wedding anniversary.
"Partners do not need to hold in tightly, because they move confidently in the same pattern, intricate but gay and swift and free."
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
The Captain and his bride, Jerry and Judy. We were married in 1960 and had two children. We have been together for 52 years.
"When you loved me, I gave you the whole sun and stars to play with...and the volume of all the seas in one impulse of your soul."
George Bernard Shaw
"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
The Fox's advice to the Little Prince

This is Tami and Tim on their wedding day. They were married in 1986 and have one child. They will be celebrating their 26th anniversary in September.
"No tears today/No girl on earth
So beautiful; no girl will see
A fairer wedding-day than this."
Catullus
"The bride...floating all white...in the morning shadow of trees, her veil flowing with laughter..
S. H. Lawrence, "Women In Love"
"She blushed with such a charming bloom,
It did one good to see her there,
And brightened all things in the room."
James Thomson, "In the Room", 1867
"Every girl has a fantasy of elegance...And there's a moment when it comes true.
Jessica McClintock
Hope you enjoyed your invitation to the weddings...Judy
