A story of celebration about a graduation,a barbecue and a surprise!
I remember years ago,
You were so little then.
Sometimes,
I can't help but wish,
That you were small again.
I've cried when you've faced heartaches,
And saw, that as you grew,
Nothing broke your spirit,
Instead it strengthened you.
I'm filled with mixed emotions,
As I hold back all the tears
And, with much pride remember,
Back so many years.

Congratulations, Jake, we are so proud of you!

The first part of the day was very exciting and filled with much emotion, so we were ready for a relaxing time with family, great friends and good food.
Preparations for a barbecue celebration given by two families for two best friends.
Jake and one of his best friends and fellow graduate, James
As the celebrating came to a close, and all signs of the party were put to bed, we thought that nothing more could be crammed into such a full day but we were wrong....
Jake and three of his friends had given themselves a graduation present. A jump out of an airplane at 14,000 feet.
What a huge surprise!!
Hope you enjoyed the celebration...Judy

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Jake and his friend on their acchievements. Jumping out of a plane would scare me to death since I'm terrified of heights, but it looks like they had a great time. Wish I had been there to enjoy your BBQ since the food looks delicious, and I'm sure with your friends and family everyone had a great time. Thanks for being a great friend and joining me at the Grill, BBQ, and Picnic Party!

Hi Judy! Congratulations to Jake and he is a handsome young man. Looks like the celebration was grand! Now I know I would have simply passed out watching him jump from the airplane!

Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That is really something! I'm amazed at that surprise! First of all.....congrats to him on his graduation. And, I must say (don't kill me for saying this), "The sky's the limit for him!" Sorry, I just couldn't resist the pun. He seems very ambitious based on this present to himself. That had to be sooooo exciting to watch.

Dear Judy and the Captain,
ReplyDeleteWhat a doll he is! All I can say is I'm sorry I missed it all. You know how I feel about Jake. What a beautiful, 'appropro' poem. I'm happy it was such a glorious event for him. Thanks for the photos. I saved them to my computer.
