"There is magic in the garden...
good magic"
Colin to Mary Lennox, "The Secret Garden"
Here is a part of the long-awaited Secret Garden that I promised you a while ago.
I know it's taken some time, but, in case you haven't noticed, that's how we do things around here. After all, it's coming on to summer and the livin' is easy.
It is a beautiful day in the Secret Garden.
The sunlight is dappling, the birds are singing sweetly and a soft breeze is blowing. It's a most joyous time to sit, with a cup of tea, and reflect on the journey that has gotten us this far.
"Where you tend a rose, my lad...A thistle cannot grow..."
"The Secret Garden"
"And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow,/Dropping from the vines of morning to where the cricket sings..."
W. B. Yeats
Please relax and savor your peaceful times...Judy

Thank you so much Val. I always appreciate the lovely compliments you give. I think I might have overloaded the mosiacs a bit, it makes the pictures kind of small, but I wanted to show all the corners and as usual, I get carried away..Hope you are having the best weekend, my friend..Judy
DeleteFabulous Secret Garden! I love the wicker pieces with floral fabrics and the flowers look gorgeous! Picture perfect, Judy!

A special place.. for certain.

ReplyDeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteIt looks so lovely. I love your teapot... I had seen those in Romantic Homes years ago and wanted one I never did get around to getting one.
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Hi Amy Jo: Thank you and you're right about Romantic Homes. That's exactly where I first saw the teapot ("Songbird Garden", Rosie B. Farmer). I can't remember, but I think I went to her website and ordered it. I think I'll try back and see if they still are available and get maybe a sugar and creamer..Happy Saturday..Judy
DeleteA magical space indeed, we all need to take time out to relax, you truly have a secret garden, I am there with you sharing your pretty cups and teapot, bliss
ReplyDeleteThea x
Thank you Thea for your sweet comments and I am so happy to share with you..Happy Saturday..Judy
DeleteHello to my talented sister....I know you have always loved 'The Secret Garden' and now you have one of your own. I see you guys have redone under the gazebo and it is beautiful! I want to come visit! You probably thought I have fallen from the planet....no, just caught up in my 'hovel.' Yesterday the huge ol' swamp cooler was reinstalled (14 feet up) and what an ordeal that was! After witnessing that I never want to remove it for the change of seasons even though I hate looking at it! I have just got caught up reading your lovely posts. Though a bit late, I might comment on some down the road! I do remember seeing one of your gorgeous photos with the Pollyanna books in it. Those were my favorite to read. I ofter thought of myself as the 'glad girl' during those formative years. WHAT THE.....HAPPENED!!!?
ReplyDeleteLately I've been to Ikea 3 times and still can't get anything right. Return, returns. I NEED YOUR EXPERTISE and will be in touch with yet another DECOR UPDATE question.
Tami probably told you I can't come to Jake's graduation and party. Of all the graduates, I hate to miss his. What a great all-American young man (not to mention sooo cute) Tami and Tim have raised. Give credit where credit is due. Tell me all about it!
LOVE, Sid
Hi Judy, Your secret garden is beautiful and really tempts me to go in and sit. I recently finished reading a book by Master Gardener Margaret Roach which she titled "And I Shall Have Some Peace There" taken from the quote you included. It was a great read. Thank you for the pretty pictures. I clicked to enlarge so I could enjoy all the details! Linda
ReplyDeleteGoodness, your garden looks so comfortable! I never quite seem to get past the gardening to the details that would make it so enjoyable to just relax and enjoy the time well spent digging in the soil... Larry
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfectly charming spot! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
Oh, to daydream there! What a lovely spot - hope it is just your secret hide-a-way! A cup of coffee or a glass of wine and a good book - heaven!!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, what a wonderful, dreamy, whimsical secret garden you've created. I'm going back to check out the pictures again.
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking!! I would love a spot like that to enjoy tea and read a book or just take a afternoon nap. Thank You so much for sharing your cozy spot with us and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank you so much, Elaine. It was my favorite book also, someday I'll post how it got that way. Thank you for following and for your sweet comments..Hope you had a great weekend..Judy
DeleteWhat a beautiful secret garden!! Looks like a wonderful place to get lost in with a good book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping and your lovely comments, Mary Alice
Isn't having a secret garden every little girl's dream? Now that you're grown up, you made it happen! It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place to sit and enjoy your yard. It is like a picture from an lovely storybook. Beautiful job! Connie :) P.S. thanks for the sweet visit to my blog.
ReplyDeleteThank you Connie for your sweet comments. It was fun putting it together but there is still more to come soon..Hope your weekend was wonderful..Judy
DeleteNow I got very worried about myself. Thought I left a comment here yesterday, but obviously didn't, must have a bad memory nowadays, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis sure was a magic place. Just loved it. It's so boring with our garden cause it's just a plain, square with no hights or anything. You can't have a secret garden at such a place, lol.
Hope you have a lovely day.
Love Elzie
Thank you so much, Elzie. I appreciate your sweet comments. Don't get worried, because I would love to hear from you many times a day! Happy Tuesday..Judy
DeleteJudy you have created such a romantic spot to sit and relax.I hope you will find time to enjoy your secret garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cozy little spot. It reminds me of a "secret" garden that I found behind an old hotel that I was staying at in Saratoga Springs, NY. I have never forgotten it, and I love what you have done. Now enjoy it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous secret garden. Absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a truly beautiful garden space - perfect for tea, books and listening to nature's lovely music.
ReplyDeleteI love it Judy! Wish I could come and have tea with you in this cozy hidden-away retreat. Might have been a lot of work, but it was worth it.
ReplyDeleteJudith
Oh, dear, my comment was lost.....
ReplyDeleteHi Judy and I love your secret garden! :)
ReplyDeleteWish I could have seen RN in concert. He was just dreamy, wasn't he?
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Judy, your garden is a beautiful place where I can imagine myself sitting enjoying the beauty while I dream the day away. Oh yes, I would be a happy person relaxing there. Thanks for showing your little hide away at Your Cozy Home Party. -----------Shannon
ReplyDeleteThank you Shannon: It is a nice place to relax. I enjoy coming to the Cozy Home Party. Thanks for hosting..Judy
DeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful spot to have tea and read a book! Simply charming, hidden away among all the greenery; love it! So happy you have joined me and I wish you a delightful day.
Blessings,
Sandi
What a beautiful secret garden and a great little retreat! You have created a lovely spot!
ReplyDeleteJudy that looks like a very magical place. I could do with a secret space like that, comfy chair, nice bit of shade, pot of tea and some bickies, a good book and I'd be as happy as a sandboy! Love the fairy lights at night, it really adds that magical touch.
ReplyDeletePaul
Judy in answer to your question, Bickies are Biscuits or as you would probably call them cookies. Here in the UK in the afternoon we like to have tea with nice bickie:)
DeleteSuch a beautiful place. I could so get lost there. Thanks so much for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
Judy,
ReplyDeleteThat garden of yours gets prettier with each and every posting! A glass of lemonade, a book and a chair in your garden... now that would be a day of beautiful relaxation!
