"Oh, Beautiful...

For Spacious Skies...

For Amber Waves of Grain...

For Purple Mountains Majesty...

Above the Fruited Plains...

God Shed His Grace On Thee...

And Crown Thy Good with Brotherhood...

From Sea...

To Shining Sea."

Katharine Lee Bates, "America the Beautiful"

Hope all my American friends have a safe and fun filled Independence Day.

Please let me know. I will be posting and asking this question in a day or two to find out if everyone is still finding me. Thanks so much. Pamela

  8. A wonderful post with pictures and the words of a song I have always loved. Bates wrote it while in Colorado Springs and finding inspiration from her visit to the top of Pikes Peak. When we drove to the top we saw a plaque there dedicated to her. A beautiful view I will never forget along with the song.
