"Oh, Beautiful...
For Spacious Skies...
For Amber Waves of Grain...
For Purple Mountains Majesty...
Above the Fruited Plains...
AMERICA...
AMERICA...
God Shed His Grace On Thee...
And Crown Thy Good with Brotherhood...
From Sea...
To Shining Sea."
Katharine Lee Bates, "America the Beautiful"

Hope all my American friends have a safe and fun filled Independence Day.
Bloglovin is the rule now. I think hope I have signed up correctly. It always takes me awhile to figure out something new.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Judy! I love the photos to go with the anthem. I hope you have a safe and fun holiday later this week. I didn't sign up with Bloglovin or anything else and am still getting all my favourite blogs on my side bar (I was never on Google Reader) but am wondering if you are still getting my blog in your new reader. Please let me know. I will be posting and asking this question in a day or two to find out if everyone is still finding me. Thanks so much. Pamela

Judy- What a beautiful post-a wonderful tribute to the USA! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteA wonderful post with pictures and the words of a song I have always loved. Bates wrote it while in Colorado Springs and finding inspiration from her visit to the top of Pikes Peak. When we drove to the top we saw a plaque there dedicated to her. A beautiful view I will never forget along with the song.
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day!
