I would also like to welcome my newest followers and all those who leave the nicest comments I could hope for.

I always try to respond in kind but if I miss anyone, I hope you will let me know as that certainly is not my intention.

I would also like to welcome our fur-granddaughter, Rosemary.

Tami and Tim fostered little Rosie for some time and now have adopted her.  She is certainly a sweet addition to the family.

Tami and I participated together in our tenth year of the San Francisco Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  Some of you may not know that my daughter is a breast cancer survivor.  She was diagnosed ten years ago, at the age of 42, and is strong and healthy today.

On the first day of the walk she crossed the finish line - first out of a field of 1600.

I don't tell you this to brag.  I only mention it because I will never forget the terrible feelings of her getting that call from the doctor with her nine year old son, sitting on her lap.

I am so grateful that time seems so far away now and this is where she is today.  Well, maybe there is a small amount of bragging involved!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Please make an appointment for a mammogram if you haven't already done so.

I don't walk, I work the crew, and it is such a rewarding experience.

We had beautiful weather and it was a fun filled busy weekend.

Last, but most certainly not least, I would like to thank you all for your many wonderful and kind thoughts about the passing of our nephew, Todd.

He was a remarkable young man and we will miss him terribly forever.

I have passed on all your caring comments, from both facebook and my blog post, to my family and they are deeply moved and appreciative.

Thank you all again so much.

You are such a caring community and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it.

I would also like to thank Cindy at Dwellings-The Heart of Your Home, and Kathy at A Delightsome Life for including me as one of their features last week.  I appreciate it so much and am so honored to be along side the other talented ladies.

  15. Oh, Judy, you have every right to brag about your daughter! What a blessing that she is alright. God bless her! As always, you share beautiful images with us and each one is like a post card. I must apologize because I didn't know about your dear nephew. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Congratulations on your features, my friend, you certainly deserve them. And thank you for sharing your lovely post with us at my HOME. It's always lovely to have you.

  16. Well that sounds like a wonderful day with your grandaughter in that wonderful race, I love your new furbaby what a beautiful dog, they do add so much to a family, I miss my two sheltys so much, just one cat left and she will keep anyone busy...love your sight and I will be back again, I am a new follower of yours...Phyllis

  17. What a wonderful milestone to celebrate in so many ways!! Your family has much to be thankful for.

  18. It is so good to hear that your daughter is well Judy after 10 years and fab that you participated in the walk/run. Cancer is something that affects every family at some point. My son just told me earlier tonight one of his friends has just died from it aged 32. He left a wife and two small sons. So very sad.A cruel illness.

  19. Bragging or not you should. That is an awesome accomplishment. First out of 1600.
I can't imagine a call like that but I worry every year when I get my mammogram since my biopsy in 02 and was told I have active ducts and could happen.
Hugs to you and your family.

  20. Judy!! What an accomplishment!! Good for you!! So glad to hear that your daughter remains cancer free!!

Your comments are so special to me...Judy
