In this mixed up time
we are spending now,
it is the little things
that mean the most.
Since we don't know
what the big picture is or will be,
we have to cling onto
the little things
I had to go
for a blood test
because of the warfarin I am taking,
...the Captain had
his annual doc appointment,
which was performed
while he was in the car,
and he wore his mask.
The Cecil Brunner rose bush
is in full bloom.
I love the buds
just before they open.
Robin is forever grateful
for whatever sun
she can find...
...and Kai
doesn't care much for sunshine.
He only wants to know
where his papa is.
Our first
David Austin bloom.
The painting
is coming along,
slowly but surely.
Nothing much else
is happening around here.
Just enjoying
the little things
in life.
Stay well and wear your masks.
...Judy...

I like your roses and other flowers, and the painting you are working on. Masks are a thoughtful gift, I am wearing one outside when I go on walks with Bounce.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Terra. I appreciate your very kind words. We wear ours whenever we are out of the house. I think it would be disrespectful to the front line workers if we didn't. Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteThings in life sure are different right now. The painting is looking so great. What a great and nice gesture for gifting you and the Captain the masks. I think we will all be using them for many months. Love to see your pretty pics of flowers and also your poetic words. Have a great week sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Thank you sweet Kris. Everything is different right now but we will be able to "remember" how it used to be. It will be so great when we can just enjoy the simple little things again that seem only memories right now..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteSometimes the little things mean the most. Your fur babies are so sweet. The masks are great, so thoughtful for them to send them to you. The painting is coming along nicely. Kudos for the talent Judy. Your rose is gorgeous. I have a few roses blooming down by the pool and back area. Take care and thank you for sharing at Love Your Creativity. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda. I am having fun with the painting. Wish I could paint like that without the lines and the numbers! Our little fur babies are such joy and I am so sorry that you are missing one of yours right now..Stay safe and well and take care..xxoJudy

DeleteYour photos are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debby. I love blogging and I think the photography is one special part. It is fun to edit them but also let the beauty of the subject be front and center..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteYOu are one hundred percent right! And your painting is coming along quite well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanie. I'm glad you agree..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
Deletelove your painting. Where will you hang it? I just started working on one I have had for 4 years. Never know where to hang anything. It's not too bad here. People are getting out a lot and its good to see walkers in our neighborhood to chat with and nice sunny days, well except tonight and tomorrow, supposed to rain. Hugs, betsy
ReplyDeleteThanks, Betsy. I am getting antsy to finish it as I think it is coming along pretty well. I guess I will hang it over the sofa, but I'll have to add some plates or something to the sides of it as it isn't very big. I think they are opening up some shops next week here, but a lot will have to be proven to me before I venture out. I do see people walking in our neighborhood, but without masks, and that is a scary sight to me..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have to go for my annual blood work in a couple of weeks, you have given me a bit of encouragement. I too will of course wear a mask, here everyone wears one in public, even out walking in the morning. I love all of you beautiful rose pictures, so pretty. Your painting is coming along well, I look forward to seeing it when you have it all finished...do you know where you are going to put it?
Take care and stay well.
Thanks so much, Adrienne. I have to go for that particular test about every 6-8 weeks. I don't have to fast so I always go just before the lab closes and usually there is no one there. When I have to go for regular blood work, which I will at the end of this month, I have to fast so I will get to the lab before they open (7 AM) so I can be first in line. Ours is usually so busy. I haven't done that since all this has started so I am a little nervous as to how it will go. I wear a mask even if in the car, but I am seeing so many neighbors walking in the neighborhood without masks and I don't like that. I won't go near any of them. A lot needs to be proven to me before I will be out and about. I guess I will hang the painting over the sofa. It seems like more of a autumn picture, but don't think I can wait that long to hang it..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy

DeleteYikes, I'm always pushing the wrong button. I didn't think this one printed!!
DeleteWow! That David Austin rose if beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't planted roses in forever, because of our winters freezing the roses back to wild rose stock.
Perhaps in our new house, and new location that has milder winters, I'll give roses another try :)
Have a great day!
~K.
(p.s. My sweet hubby is on Eliquis.. we're hoping that this will be the last month, and that 12 inch long blood clot will be like scar tissue and never go away. It's been interesting.. I hover because I'm always worried that he'll cut his finger or something.)
Thanks, Kerin. I love that rose. I can't remember the name of it but it smells wonderful. Hope you can grow some. You do seem like you have a green thumb to me. My doc says I will never be able to get off of the warfrin but I am pretty lucky that I can control it pretty well, it depends a lot on diet. The only thing I'm not very fond of is having to have a blood test every 6-8 weeks. I am concerned about cutting myself too although I never have in 8 years so far..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteYes.. the little things so enrich our lives... to me,,, just driving around (or walking) to see flowers is such a joy. I enjoy seeing people working in their yards and taking pride in their homes. Your flowers are grogeous! your painting is looking great too! I need to make a mask for my hubby.. he never wears one but he's careful to stay away from other people, but he does go to the store for food and that worries me. Our county is either no or only a very few outbreaks of the virus for which I'm grateful, but you never know when someone may be in the store from a different area, just passing through. I will be so glad when this "new" virus is a thing of the past and there are vaccines for it. Take care.. enjoy your week! xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThanks Marilyn. I hope you do make your hub wear a mask. I see so many of my neighbors getting out for walks now without masks. I feel that it is a foolish mistake. We have had about 50 cases and one death in our county but that doesn't mean we won't get more before this is all over. I know I will not be going to stores until there is a little more proof that it is slowing down. I don't know when that will be but I am afraid that it will be alot longer than we would like..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteWhat pretty flowers. That orange really pops! Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Janice. That was one lone little California poppy growing out of a crack in the cement. We used to have so many of them but over the years they are slowly disappearing..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteLovely images in your post.
ReplyDeleteThese days more than ever it is so important to enjoy the little things in life … that is what Eddie and I are doing.
God bless.
All the best Jan
Thanks so much Jan. That's what we are doing too. When it seems overwhelming it is good to focus on what is right in front of me..Take care and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteYes, we should appreciate little things, pretty flowers ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kinga. Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteBeautiful! Love your photographs. I'm devoted to wearing a mask when I go out and starting to accumulate a mask collection. Never thought that would be my latest hobby. Take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. I'm glad you wear a mask. We don't have too much control in our lives right now except that. You can make a fashion statement. haha..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteI am glad you are keeping safe and wearing masks. I love that CB rose. How gorgeous!!!!! Your photos are all lovely and I envy you your gardens. Happy Mother's Day- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Diana. That is such a gorgeous rose and it deserves much better than it gets from me. Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day and stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteAs always, another lovely post. I love your roses! Nice masks. I thought about going out to the grocery this morning, but changed my mind. Maybe tomorrow morning. It's been 79 days since isolation began and I went out on day 56, which was three weeks ago. Have a nice weekend ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteOh, Lorraine, somehow your sweet comment got buried in all my mess and I only just saw it. Thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you got out for awhile. I did go to the nursery and buy some zinnias today. The planting will make me happy..Stay well, my dear friend..xxoJudy
