I saw this cheeky little robin
sitting on the edge of the fountain this morning.
He was looking up
and singing a little song
just for me.
As I looked around
there was a perky little bouquet
sitting on the table
looking up at...
...the sun
reflecting off of
something bright and beautiful...
...and
making a
commonplace sight
seem new and promising.
I took a deep breath
and as I looked around
I could see that spring
might be happening
any time now...
...and even though
I have been feeling
a little beaten down by winter,
and a little bit house bound,
I am starting to breathe again
and home
has never looked
so good...
...and whether it is said
in bird song or
in the language of flowers,
it sounds and feels
the same......
Even though it might be
beginning to feel like
we are getting closer to "normal",
we are not there yet so:
Stay Smart
Stay Well
Get Your Vaccines
Wear Your Masks
and
Breathe!
Home is a good place to be!
...Judy...

No robin sighting here yet. They usually come back in February too. Looking forward to Spring. Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Janice. I've been seeing quite a few these last days with the sun shining brightly. Word is, next week rain! Just call it early spring!..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteVery fine post 😊 very interesting photos 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Martyna. Is it getting close to spring where you are?..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteWe've all felt beaten down by winter. You're right -- signs of spring and hope are so encouraging! Thank you for the lovely photos today!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanie. I am enjoying it while I can. Next week will be wet! I guess it will all come in time, like everything else. The news is starting to be very encouraging..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteWhat a 'tweet', positive and springy post. Love you ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lorraine. Yes, that is the only "tweeting" that I do! I hope it made you smile..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteLove that sweet Robin singing to you. I actually saw a Robin yesterday and that is a good sign for us in the midwest that Spring is on its way. Today we hit 60 that feels so great. With all the crazy of Covid and weather issues this winter it will be so nice to see renewal and spring. Have a great rest of the week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kris. You are so right and I agree with everything you say. The news is encouraging and with Spring on the way, it is all so far so good..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteLovely, Judy! Wise words, my friend. I'm gratefully fully vaccinated, but my husband still needs his second. I'm not planning to give up wearing a mask even though our governor is lifting the mandate. I think he is making a mistake.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sarah. We will get our second shot on March 15. Like you, I am not planning anything different from what I am doing now. It is looking better now but my fears are that there are many who will think they can let up because of the vaccines and letting up on anything just yet is a huge mistake in my opinion..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteLove those happy spring flowers. Robins around here seem to be getting bigger. I don't see how some of them fly. Eating good somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI do love the snow but now it looks as though spring is here.
Thanks so much, Betsy. We only had a couple of days worth of snow so guess we might get a little rain between now and spring but that is good too. I have been seeing quite a few robins. They eat the berries off of the holly tree and than wash them down at the fountain. They do seem a bit large. Hope all is going well with you..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteSuch a lovely post...yes breathing isn't just optional, but essential...LOL. hugs, and we still have quite a bit of snow---but it is waning in balmy temps!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sandi. Our paper says we may get some snow this coming weekend, but it is a bright sunny day right now. Yes, we are still breathing, but with talk of opening up again, I am wondering how long we can keep it up!..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteOh, could you send that little robin my way? Today was almost 40, but Monday was 20 and next week looks like it might be more of the same. March certainly comes in like a lion in my neck of the woods. Hoping that lamb isn't far behind!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kim. I will send the flock! We might get some snow this weekend but don't think it will be too much. So far, March is doing its little lamb thing around here so maybe there is a lion lurking in the shadows at the end of the month..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteThanks so much, Kim. I will send the whole flock your way. We might get a little snow this weekend but is bright and pretty so far today. March has come in like a lamb around here so maybe we will get hit at the end of the month..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteI didn't think the first one took, so you can take your pick of which you like best..xxoJ
ReplyDeleteRobins are my favourite bird, it's always nice to see them in the garden.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely, wonderful colours.
Happy March Wishes.
All the best Jan
Thanks so much, Jan. The robins are fat and sassy this year in our garden. Hope that is a sign of spring not being too far off. Thank heavens for the little grocery store bouquets. They do brighten up the place..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteAll the sweet things of your beautiful home, Judy and it's so true what your little sign says about being home. Love your mantel vignette :) For some reason the Robins have wintered over here this year and they've been living in the holly tree. Plenty of berries and safe from predators, I guess. We are all so happy to see signs of spring after this distressing winter. Something to give us hope....We get our vaccines at the end of the month, and then have to go back for the 2nd. So happy that there is light at the end of the tunnel and love to hear about all my blogger friends getting theirs. I think this is going to be a wonderful summer after all we've been through. Sending hugs and hope you get more signs of spring your way! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Karen. It really does feel like spring is on the horizon. The robins have just not been showing up in the garden so that is a sure sign. We go next Monday for our second shots. So happy and now, hopefully, we can see a better summer in the mix. I am not entirely there yet, but it does seem like the vaccines are opening up and people are beginning to get their shots..Stay well..xxoJudy
DeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteI saw my first 2 robins for this season just yesterday!!
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks so much, Deb. I have been seeing a lot of them. They love the berries on the holly tree..Stay well..xxoJudy
