After one of the
longest months of the year,
we start the shortest one
with typical sunny California weather.
Snow is still on the ground,
even though none has fallen
since the day after Christmas.
I am still waiting for
that one winter's day
when it is chilly with rain,
the house is clean,
the lamps and candles are lit at 10 AM,
and the fires burn all day long.
That,
for me,
is the love of winter
and then it can be over!
The ongoing project
of a clean library
is happening
behind closed doors...
Two sweet little felted mice
with one big heart,
tucked into a Christmas present
from the kids.
with one big heart,
tucked into a Christmas present
from the kids.
...and a sprinkling of hearts
are strewn around the Cottage
to honor this month
and the labors of love.
May you enjoy
the fruits of your labors!
Happy February to one and all.
...Judy...

Good morning, Judy! Oh, everything looks so sweet! I adore those little mice holding the heart! I don't know what you do but your pictures always have a dreamy touch to them. Thank you so much for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thanks so much, Shelia. I didn't do much in the way of "heart" decorating. I am trying really hard to focus on the cleaning! Thanks for your kind words about my photos. I love playing with them and however they come out is all due to Picasa..Happy, happy February to you, my friend..xxoJudy
DeleteLooks like your house is ready for a month of love, Judy!! I have to pull some hearts and pop them around the house. Right now, there's just a lot of snow outside my window. Not a fan! Hahaha!! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kim. I've seen on the news that your area has been pretty hard hit. Stay warm and safe..Happy February..xxoJudy

ReplyDeleteI have a few Valentine displays up. Not much. Loving all of your hearts. We are currently under a snow warning with up to 14 inches of the white powder. Wood is ready in case we lose power. Hopefully tomorrow the groundhog will not see his shadow. Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Janice. I only did a very few valentines this year. It is cold here too but no more snow. I don't envy you. Well, he did!!..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
DeleteHi Judy! Looks like you are ready for a month full of love! That little mouse couple is adorable, what a sweet gift. There are few things better in the winter than a clean house, a yummy scented candle and a crackling fire. Jane
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jane. I agree and even better with a little rain music. We don't seem to be so lucky these days..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
DeleteSweet photos, and I adore those cute mice....! Hugs, Sandi
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sandi. Those little mice are really darling and for me, a very thoughtful gift..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
DeleteMice with the heart. Cutest thing EVER! This is a good reminder to me to bring up my few Valentine things. I don't know why I've been dragging my heels but we are snowed in today (not that I go out much anyway) and it's a good day to fiddle in the house! Happy day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanie. I knew you, of all people, would love them too. Any day is a good day to fiddle in the house, if you ask me..Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
DeleteI agree.. your photos do have a dreamy, magical look to them, of olden days and days gone by. I love looking at them and love all of the different hearts and reds here and there. I don't think I'll put anything up for Val. Day...not this year anyway. I've kept a little tree up on my desk and I may take off the tiny ornaments and put some red hearts on it, either buttons or felt or little paper hearts. That'll be about it I think! No snow here but super cold still, nights still down in the 20's. For me, February is a month to putter, bundle up and craft the hours away! xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marilyn. I just did enough to take a few pics, nothing too much or spectacular. I agree with you about February. I am still working to getting the library in order so I can do just that. Stay warm and Happy Thursday..xxoJudy
DeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteLove the sweet hearts!! Looking forward to seeing what the library looks like after all the cleaning!!Thanks so much for stopping by!! We are getting rain and then ice overnight and then ending as a bit of snow...In other words, a Mess!! I would rather it just be all snow!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thanks so much, Deb. It is finally done so, hopefully, I can get back of track..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteSuch sweet hearts, Judy. A reminder of the most important thing in life; love. Looking forward to all the snow melting and a little sun. Library cleaning sounds like a good thing to tackle while we wait. Hope you are finding some unread treasures to get to once you are done. Hugs xo K
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Karen. The cleaning has been good for me and now that I finally accomplished it, I need to get back on track..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteI love your sweet bits and pieces for Valentine's Day. Love the idea of a fire going all day. I used to do that when I lived in the big old two story and had a wood burning fireplace.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
Thanks so much, Diana. Our little patch of snow is still on the ground. It has iced over so many times that it can't be budged..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteSweet little hearts! I love the one with the old buttons on it!
ReplyDeleteHow nice it is that we are inching closer to springtime, and being able to open the windows and smell the fresh green of spring :)
Have a nice weekend.
~K.
Thanks so much, Kerin. I love that little heart too. It is always someplace no matter what the month. The last couple of days have seemed like spring is much closer. Still cold, but gives us hope..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteHello Sweet Judy, it has been a while since I've visited and oh my goodness . . . what I have missed. This post is beautiful and when I'm finished typing this I plan on going back and visiting more. I enjoy having four seasons and I believe that those of us that do have a change in the seasons look so much more forward to each and everyone of them. I for one cannot wait to see my first tulip popping up into the sunlight. I usually start walking around the house mid February looking for that first sign of spring's arrival.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many lovely little hearts tuck around your home . . . a sweet little bit of fun . . . I really like the little mice, so cute.
Have a wonderful week . . . here's to melting snow and sunshine :)
Thanks so much, Connie. I am glad to hear from you and you are right about looking forward to each season. That last few days have been feeling more like spring is coming nearer. The squirrels dig up bulbs faster than I can plant them so it is always wonderful to see what comes up each year. Our snow spot has still not melted so it continues to be cold at night..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteOh Judy I love the felted mice and the quilted heart. I am trying to makes a few hearts
ReplyDeleteJanice
Thanks so much, Janice. I didn't do a lot of valentine decorating but I do love a few hearts..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
