The calendar said that spring began two days ago,
and the view out the windows seems to agree.
However, we can never be too sure
and with all that is going on in the world,
a little brightness would be very welcoming right about now.
What could be brighter
than this familiar gathering of blooms
keeping company with a happy reminder
that Easter will be coming soon.
There can be nothing brighter
than a wreath made up with the brilliant colors of summer flowers.
Something to look forward to
until the real ones come along.
Another sneak peek at the fact
that the Cottage is preparing for spring
and the arrival of that funny bunny.
One of the brightest things in life is having good friends.
How lucky we are when we find them.
All it took was a mention that I had ordered black and white carrots
and then was unable to get them and one of my dear good friends,
Kris, from Junk Chic Cottage
sent me the prettiest wrapped package holding three of the cutest fabric carrots imaginable.
This was nothing unusual for Kris as anyone who follows her knows.
They are so perfect for a display on the kitchen table, and I love them.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, my friend.
The generosity of a friend
along with a cute topiary from Ikea
and a mossy rabbit on a black and white mat,
brighten up the kitchen along with...
that Kris included,
just because.
I hope you all
are finding bits of brightness
along the way to a beautiful springtime
Have a wonderful week
and hope you are enjoying the young spring sunshine where you are.

Judy you are so welcome for the carrots and bunny. I could not resist that sweet bunny with how he matched the carrots and that sweet tail made me smile. Your Spring decor is looking so good. You have been such a good friend and I love your decor so I am so happy I could find those cute carrots for you like mine. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kris. I certainly do appreciate your generosity and love the carrots and the little bunny. I am not surprised though, as this is a common practice for you and we all appreciate you and your friendship..Happy Wednesday, my friend..xxoJudy
DeleteI'm seeing some sunshine today which is so wonderful! It's 75 degrees... from a couple of days ago being a high of 49! That's the way it is... in Madras anyway.. we go right from winter to summer! Not anything blooming around here yet.. though my lilac bush has "green stuff" on it and my Irises have new leaves peeking up! We had a good rain too so that will help (although it will also help with weeds coming up!). Your checkered carrots and bunnies are so cute. Bless Kris's heart for sending those! I love all of your Easter decor and the pillows. I usually just put a few things on my dining room table as an Easter decoration. I do have a bunny tablecloth I made YEARS ago... and I still put it out on my table... I may make some Easter napkins as I have so much fabric! Have a great week! xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Marilyn. We had a beautiful day here today but I spent most of it sitting in the car while Jerry had a hearing test at the VA. He has had them before but said this one was very involved. My lilac bush has some green stuff too and the daffodils are barely showing green, but even though lips are sealed! I suspect someone! got carried away with the weed wacker..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy
DeleteSo cute, loving your black and white additions! Hugs, Sandi
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sandi. I really do love black and white..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteI was doing happy dance this morning when I heard my first freighter do a salute of their horn. Two short blasts of their horn and a long one. Freighters back in our river is a sure sign of Spring here. Loving all of your displays...and how fun to receive such a nice gift! Janice
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Janice. That sounds like pure heaven. Such nostalgia, just like the sound of a train whistle. Spring has sprung and Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteJudy, it's beginning to look like spring here, but March has brought us some fierce weather with thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes in the area. Today was blue skies and sunshine, but windy and cold. My bluebonnets are up and beginning to bloom, the redbuds too. Yes, it's beginning to look like spring.
ReplyDeleteYour gift is sweet and love the charming vignette on your table. Black and white delights!
Happy Spring!
Thanks so much, Sarah. I have been seeing all the scary weather on the news. We had some rain but back to sunshine today. My lilacs are finally budding out..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteLovely pictures and your friends gifts are so thoughtful and generous.
ReplyDeleteYes. I am ready for warm weather and lots of sunshine!
I heard a chorus of robins this morning, and my heart smiled :)
~K.
Thanks so much, Kerin. I actually haven't seen any robins yet this spring, but I have just noticed the buds on my lilac. That is exciting. Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteYour sunflower is lovely. And that was SO thoughtful of Kris. I've seen some good links for making no-sew (or sew) carrots and I'm thinking of doing that. Or felting up some. They're adorable in your space!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jeanie. Kris is such a thoughtful friend. I have been seeing a lot of cute projects for carrots. You could really felt up so cute ones..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteKris is an absolute doll and very generous. My kids call her the present fairy!! I love what she sent you and that sunflower is just beautiful. Happy Spring, Judy!! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kim. She is that for sure. There is still room for improvement as far as the painting goes, but still trying..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
DeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteO My!! Everything looks so charming...I too was the recipient of a few carrots for Easter a few years back from Kris and that act of kindness spawned a carrot decorating trend in the Kitchen for Easter....We had a fleeting glimpse of Spring and now there are snow showers predicted for the weekend and a low temp of 14 degrees predicted for Monday morning....But that is normal for NEPA!!!Thanks so much for your visit and kind words!!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thanks so much, Debbie. I think it is finally spring for real but hopefully a few more spring showers..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy

ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Betsy. I am really behind in answering and trying to play catchup today. I am not doing much for Easter but will show a couple of more things next week..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
