THE MAGIC OF SPRINGTIME...

Exactly one year ago today

this is what the front garden looked like...

...but, today,

 beautiful, glorious, breezy today,

this is what it looks like now.

As I opened the door so I could share with you

the first sighting of a spring fairy

 basking in the sun,

this happened...

...two robins mysteriously appeared from the sky

to join her on the fountain,

in celebration of the first day of spring.

If that isn't magic, I don't know what is.

Speaking of magic...

the entry got a few touches of spring herself.

Don't you just love when that happens?

As I chose a couple of green books

to elevate the birdies

as part of the spring celebration,

look what title randomly came up.

Another magical springtime moment.

We are doing some spring cleaning

in each room as I decorate.

The parlor and entry are the shining stars this week.

Hope your first day of spring is

bright and beautiful

with many magical moments.

...xxoJudy...

  1. Hello Judy. Happy Spring from Michigan! Love your home and would like to see a photo of the one wall in your front foyer. Looks like a gallery wall. Also did you paint the little commode under the large mirror? Love the color combination.

  2. Thanks so much, Pam. Happy Spring to you also. I appreciate your kind words and I will feature that wall in the entry next post for you. The room is narrow so it is hard to get that side of it but will give it a try. I did paint the washstand. It belonged to my great-grandmother and I just used some blue and white chalk paint and went over it with a brownish glaze. Easy to do but I thought it made it look a little different..Enjoy the springtime and thanks for your visit..xxoJudy

  3. Happy 1st day of spring - today it is gloriously feeling like spring, which is a wonder! This weekend, we are to get inches of snow - such is spring in the northwest! I see tulips and daffodils poking their heads up - it is a joy to see them! Your home is so lovely, I love all the special happy touches of love and hope of spring throughout! Many blessings to you :)

  5. Happy Spring. Our first day of spring was a bit chilly. We are still in winter. We had such gorgeous weather through the month of February. Breaking records with high temps. Now old man winter has reared his ugly head even on the first day of spring. Hoping by next week we will be back to normal spring temps. Robins have been here for a month now and all the daffodils have been blooming and then snow might come this week. Crazy. Love your spring entry. Happy you could have the fountain not frozen for Spring this year.
    Hugs. Kris

  6. Thanks so much, Kris. We have been pretty lucky so far. Cooler temps but lots of sun. The garden is beginning to look more like spring and a little less like winter chaos..Happy Spring to you my friend..xxoJudy

  7. We actually had a bit of snow this morning -- gone now, but only 30. It could change on a dime (last week it was 71). Springer is a tough transition. But my daffs are out and I see yours are too. Aren't they so happy!

    1. Thanks so much, Jeanie. Oue daffs are the biggest, prettiest and brightest this year than ever before. I guess the rainy winter is good for them. We had rain and wind but the last two days have been glorious. Bring on the spring!xxoJudy

  8. Oh Judy.. Mother Nature sure can tease us can't she? There was even snow here in Astoria a year ago on March 4th and 5th! this year there was a little bit around the same time, maybe a few days earlier.. then we had some 70 to 80 degree days! Your house looks lovely and your spring cleaning must make you feel very good! I always feel good when I tidy up or rearrange things, etc. I'm looking forward to another bout of spring weather, though will be rain here the next week! There's usually a sun break now and then so that helps to brighten things up. I can hardly wait to start getting plants for my pots and flower boxes I brought with me! Take care! xoxo Marilyn

    1. Thanks so much, Marilyn. When the weather starts being nice it certainly picks up our spirits. It is funny how mixed up our weather is. I guess we just have to be patient and it will happen. That isn't always easy for me anyway..Happy Spring, xxoJudy

    1. Thanks so much, Sarah. We have had the most beautiful last few days. Were able to open all doors and windows and let in some wonderful spring air and sunshine. You are right though, it won't be that much fun when all the heat gets here. Happy Spring and Easter..xxoJudy

  11. Here's to spring, Judy!! It's beautiful...and so unpredictable. It's raining here today, but a few hours north it's snowing like crazy, burying the daffodils and forsythia blooms. I'm glad you're getting some sunshine. Send those robins my way, please! Hahaha!!
