Master Sweet II

Good Afternoon Everyone:

Here is the master bathroom I promised you:

This is a peek into the bath from the bedroom.  Even though the flooring looks like tile it really is vinyl.   A big mistake!  That was put in 20 years ago and tile wasn't within our budget then.  Oh, well!  Maybe some day.

.
After entering through the doorway above..to the right is my dressing table.

French door to the left is the closet.  It is a walk-in made by enclosing part of a back porch.

There was no closet in the bedroom when we bought the Cottage.

Some more of my favorite curtains.  The wainscotting came out of the same old house as the door and window mouldings and had to be replaned as well.

We had an old pedestal sink here when we first did the renovation but it just didn't have enough space for me to 'clutter' it up so we bought this one at Costco.  I planned to paint it black but once it was in place, I decided I liked it the way it was.

This little perfume bottle was a gift from my boss when I worked as a secretary back in the late 50's.  He sent it to me from Paris.  It was called "Joy". Have you ever heard of it?  It is empty so, obviously, I used it, but I can't remember how it smelled.

These last three pictures are of the claw-foot bath tub.  It is original to the Cottage.  We had it reglazed, and lucky for us, it wasn't in too bad a shape.  Also here are my collection of silhouettes.  Some were found at flea markets and garage sales, some I have had since I was a little girl, and the two on the right side are silhouettes cut of Jerry and me from Disneyland.  I did a reverse glass painting of them and tweaked them enough to make them look like old-fashioned poses.

As you  probably can tell, this is my domain.  We have a shower in our guest bath so Jerry uses that.  He has so got my back that whenever I want to do something he pretty much goes along with it. He SAYS he likes all the feminine touches, and after all, I did use some black in the room to 'manly' it up, but I think he must hold claim to the old adage: "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody Happy.

Well, that's it.  Hope you enjoyed the visit...Now on to more housecleaning...Keep staying tuned...Judy
