We are moving right along so far. This is what is happening right now, or what has happened.
This is the first removal load of tile.
A memory refresher of what the old girl looked like with her clothes on.
This is what she looks like naked.
This is the final pile of tile.

Doesn't every woman need a new wardrobe once in awhile?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We haven't heard anything yet about the time frame for installing the new countertops, but we still have the ceiling to paint before that happens anyway.
In the mean time here is a pile of pretty little linens that I got at my next door neighbor's garage sale. They just came out of the washer and are awaiting ironing.
Because the sale is so close, I can just keep going back and back to see if there are any more bargains!! Wish me luck!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, I received the Edwardian doll house this morning that I had ordered from Amazon. It's so cute and also has the little family cut-outs included. Now, what will I do with it?

Hope the weekend is a good one...Judy

Glad you are keeping the great beadboard ceiling!
ReplyDeleteHi Carlene: Oh, yeah we wouldn't think of getting rid of that..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteGood morning Judy,
ReplyDeleteIts 10.20pm here. I thought i would just see if there were any new posts.
Here you are. Much has been done.
I love the ceiling, in keeping with the house.
Its coming along.
have a good day
val
Hi Val: I'm sure you are tucked in about now, but I'm glad you said hi before you went to bed. The ceiling is original to the house, we try to keep as much original, especially the woodwork, as we can..Sweet Dreams and Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteYour old girl is looking pretty good naked but I can't wait to see her redressed. I love your linens you got next door...and the doll house is adorable. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana: Glad you like what she is looking like. She'll get pretty again, soon we hope. My iron is heating up as we speak..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteOh Judy! I can't wait to see your new kitchen. I don't think the old one was bad! I love the window cabinets. And I love your little Edwardian house. You'll have to bring it out and decorate it for Christmas. It would be so cute with little wreaths and a Christmas tree! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I can't believe you pulled your own name out of a hat! What a bummer! I also went to one dance, and it was a Winter dance. It was a semi-formal so I didn't get to wear the pretty long dress like you wore to the prom.
ReplyDeleteThank you Leslie for your nice words. That's exactly what I said as I put the little house away..I think I'll bring it out for Christmas. I get to go on a home tour tomorrow, I'm always excited to do that..Better than any old prom! HaHa..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteYou naughty girl posting "naked" pictures! She is a beauty though! Can't wait to see her with all her new bling, bling!
dee dee
Thanks, DeeDee: I don't want to say but I hope she turns out OK, I'm afraid all the bling came in the fridge and oven, the rest is just plain 'old' stuff! Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteJudy,
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen is going to be so nice when it is done. I love that little dollhouse! I love dollhouses... I have been on the lookout for one. I haven't found THE one yet:) I hope you find many more deals this weekend...
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Thanks Amy Jo. I did find another little linen piece and one napkin ring looking like a turkey. What on earth will I do with just one? At least it might make a cute photo at Harvest time..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see your kitchen when it's finished, and I think it was adorable as it was to. I love the cabinets! I bet it's so much fun, even though you've go a little, ok big, mess right now. It's going to look great!
My husband and I went garage-saleing today (if you knew my husband you'd know what a shock it is for him to go) and we both found things we were looking for...well he found what he wanted and I just found lots of cool stuff that I wanted when I saw it! lol
Those linens look wonderful...I always look for them and didn't find any today...not worth bringing home with me anyway!
Have a nice weekend,
Nancy
Thank you, Nancy. They are mostly in good shape. A little stain that came out in the wash. One had a tiny hole but think a plate or something will be able to cover it. This was so cool, because I could just run over and look again. I went back three times but didn't find anything on the last trip. Going on a home tour tomorrow, so that will be fun. Might be something to blog about??.Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteOh I love your old wardrobe! Can't imagine anything any prettier! But I'm sure it will be georgeous! Love the ceiling! Oh my! The yellow makes me miss my yellow!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie: The ceiling is a cream color now as are the cabinets, will paint them white so will look a lot brighter, I think..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteGood morning Judy,
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to give our kitchen a face-lift! You have some wonderful features, like the ceiling and glass front cabinets. It's going to look fabulous. Cannot wait to see the finished look. Hope you're having a splendid weekend and thank you for your visit.
Blessings,
Sandi
Love the beadboard ceiling--I always wanted one. Love the linens, too. Looking forward to new pics of the finished kitchen, have a good weekend, Jean
ReplyDeleteHi Judy! Your kitchen really was cute with that tile but I'm sure it will look great with what you have planned. The ceiling is really nice. Are the cabinets staying the same? I really like those. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow your kitchen is realy emptied ! You've plann it nice. Have a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for you kind comment. We try to keep the mess to a minimum as we go along, but it isn't always easy..Happy Sunday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be divine when it is finished. Don't you just hate the process and the mess? Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteLooks like things are moving along and dad has been very busy!! And, oh what a shame, with the kitchen in such a state I'm sure you aren't able to cook which means you have been going out for meals. I'm so sorry, I know how you hate to do that!!!;)
ReplyDeleteI just became a follower, sorry I thought I was, guess I just dreamed it up. Am now for sure. Richard from my Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a kitchen makeover to give a gal a lift. We did ours last year but kept the oak cupboards because I liked them and I'm really enjoying mine. You will too when it's done and I'm a clean-as-you-go person too. :-)
Judith
I think this is my favorite post! I do love your kitchen. Giving yourself a facelift is always-well uplifting? LOL! Good luck. You will continue to grow because you are so giving! What goes around always comes around!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, I love your ceiling it's so lovely and I'm sure it will look even better once painted. I love you fan light! So american ;). I can't wait to see the finished results of your kitchen!! Oh and your linen look so gorgeous and pretty! - Becky Xx
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love that ceiling too. Why did you throw away those checkered tiles?! Now if I was continuing to have blue........but, no. Darling doll houses to 'play' with. I vividly remember cutting the furniture out of the Sears and Wards catalog to paste into shoe boxes. I know exactly where I was sitting on the floor but I had to have been four or under. My 'house' was for Lucy (I Love Lucy). Don't know where you were. Probably helping mom decorate the house. Tami's right. What a drag to have to eat 'out.'!
ReplyDeleteIt will look bad before it looks good. I know you are anxious to get everything established so you can use your kitchen again! Those little linens are pretty too. I will make sure that I'm following your blog before I leave too. Congrats on reaching 50 followers so far!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy!
