Today, I have gathered together another collection that holds court in this little Cottage.
Some you have already seen, some you have not, and some you will see again in the future.
Without further ado, shall we begin?

THE LAMPLIGHTER
My tea in nearly ready and the sun has left the sky.
It's time to take the window to see Leerie going by;
For every night at teatime and before you take your seat,
With lantern and with ladder he comes posting up the street.
Now Tom would be a driver and Maria go to sea,
And my papa's a banker and as rich as he can be.
But I, when I am stronger and can choose what I'm to do,
O Leerie, I'll go round at night and light the lamps with you!
For we are very lucky, with a lamp before the door,
And Leerie stops to light it as he lights so many more;
And oh! before you hurry by with ladder and with light;
O Leerie, see a little child and nod to him to-night!
Robert Louis Stevenson

Light and Love....Judy

Judy, what a collection of great lamps. I love the cherub shaded one, and the glass globe shaded ones and the oil lamps. Wasn't that almost ALL of them?
ReplyDeleteHi Carlene: You hit a good many of them, but, believe it or not, I have even more. How can such a little Cottage hold so many? There is barely room for people!..Happy Thursday..Judy
DeleteHi Judy,
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a lot of lamps....they are all very pretty! I love the lamp hanging from the metal bed. It is gorgeous.
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Thanks, Amy Jo: Yeah, I've got a few! I made those particular lamps...Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteJudy- You have so many beautiful lamps here! WOW@ They are gorgeous! I have always loved that old Stevenson poem. I wonder how many people still read poetry today like we used to do....xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana: Thanks for you sweet words. I had heard the poem before but never paid that much attention to all the words. It fit our Cottage perfectly. The original owner's son was a banker and our street (Race Street) was used for racing horses back when the Cottage was young! I can just see the lamplighter coming along to throw a little light on the festivities. Oh, what would we do without imaginations?!!Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the white and brass one. Oh, that is beautiful. I was at an auction tonight and did not see one lamp as beautiful as any of yours. :) Deb
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Deb. Such sweet comments. I have too many don't you think? Didn't realize until started taking pictures. There's a few more out there some place!..Happy Friday..Judy
DeleteYou know which is my favorite, the milk glass one with the round globe. Love it! I collect hobnail like the candlestick, but I don't have this particular one. I've got to go to huntin'! Love it! How romantic and victorian.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie: A lot of the lamps are 'married' to each parts. That one you are talking about has a different top than bottom. Was like that when we bought it. But, most of them go together pretty well..Happy Friday..Judy
DeleteThe grey and white lamp shade with the cherub is one of my favorites. You have a nice collection of lamps and beautiful shades. Very nice pictures, I must learn how to do the mosaic, I have not done one yet. I need to catch up now and read your previous post.
ReplyDeletebetsy
Thanks, Betsy, for your very nice comments. The lamp you are speaking about is actually rusty colored silk with a black overlay. The cherub part is a piece of fairly heavy tapestry and the glass beads are black. I used the focal black and white in Picasa so that it turns it mostly grey with just a hint of the original color if you look closely. It's really funny but when this lamp is lit and I take photo the whole color turns to purple. If you can believe it..Happy Friday..Judy.. This particular lamp I did not make.
DeleteDear Judy,
ReplyDeleteGold country cottage is a most beautifully loved cottage. So stunningly victorian.
Your lamp collection is amazing. Each one has its own unique lovely style.
Very romantic .. I always love seeing your posts Judy.
Hope the kitchen is coming along.
happy Friday

Thank you, Val: Yes we are in love with her, and we do collect a lot of stuff. Too much, most would say, even me, especially when it comes time to dust..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteYour lamp collection is fabulous! thanks for sharing such lovely photos. :) chris
ReplyDeleteThank you for you kind comments, Chris. I have just gone over to your blog and added to you list of followers. I'm so glad you have joined mine..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteWow, you have the most amazing collection of gorgeous lamps! I love the milk glass lamp - I am in awe!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend,
Kathy
Thanks, Kathy: It is a pretty large collection now that I see it in print. Didn't seem so big before!..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteMom when did you get the silver shade with the little cherub on it? I love that one!! And all the rest of course!!! Also never noticed the kitchen fan had something on the shade. (((HUGS))) to you, "the captain", Bud boy and Miss Maggie :) LOVE Tami
ReplyDeleteHi Honey: That 'silver' shade is actually rust silk with a black overlay and black beads. I used the Picasa focal black and white, where it takes out most of the color and just focuses on a slight bit of it. When that lamp is lit and photographed it shows as purple!! Now you will recognize it. The light on kitchen fan is an EBay find from awhile ago. When you visit you should look up more!!.Give all hugs, Mom
DeleteHello Judy
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post, your lamps are beautiful, I notice you have candles as well, I often light my candles, I love the glowing light they give, especially in the winter months, Happy Weekend!
Thea x
Thanks Thea. I love candles too and try to use as many as I can. I have some of the battery operated ones, and they are pretty too, but there is nothing like the real thing as far as I'm concerned..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteBeautiful lamps Judy...I am such a sucker for all types of lighting!!Wondeful collection!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara. I am too. It's so tempting to light everyone in the house at one time but try to hold back for energy sake! But I have been known to do it anyway. Secret: at Christmas time, when I was working and getting up early, I would light up the Christmas tree and a few lamps so people on their way to work would be able to see something pretty. I'm just saying. Of course, I don't get up as early any more!!.Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteWow Judy! What a excellent collection of lamps! I have a lamp that belonged to my great grandma that looks similar to your peachy globe one, however mine is green! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletedee dee
Thanks, DeeDee: Quite a lot is right. I really didn't think it was such a big collection until I started photographing them..Happy Weekend..Judy
DeleteHi Judy! I just remembered I had not left a comment for this posting. I thought I had a lot of lamps! Wow, you are the queen of lamps! I love them all, especially the gone with the wind style ones! And the lamp fabric lamp shades with the fringe! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell, my computer is running out of power and it is way after midnight. I need to go home. Haven't even eaten dinner yet! See what you can do when you are single....be a real flake! Otherwise, I would pick out my favorites, but I'll just say lights are the most mood evoking things (besides music) and so beautiful. YOUR EXPOSURES ARE PERFECT! Now I can't see your next few Blogs....but I will.....criminy! I'm getting attached like a soap opera fan! It took me a long time to detach from The Young and the Restless!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart.....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
